What to expect during your appointment.
During your appointment, your lactation consultant will review your health history, weigh baby, assess and perform an oral exam of your baby, observe a feed, and help with any breastfeeding issues you are experiencing. After feeding, your baby will be weighed again to assess how much he/she transferred at the breast.
What to do after your appointment.
After your appointment, you will receive a custom care plan for feeding your baby and working towards your breastfeeding goals. This care plan will include your baby's weight information from the consultation, how often to feed, tips for latching, notes on everything discussed at the appointment, as well as referrals and resources.
3. Follow up support means long term success!
After the initial consultation, you receive two weeks of FREE follow-up support via email and phone. You will also have access to our local breastfeeding support group where you can get weekly weight checks and a free weighted feed for continued confidence that your baby is gaining well and thriving. If you would like additional one-on-one support, affordable follow-up appointments are also available.
